The publication of the 2018 Sunday Times Rich List offers an insight into the roller coaster fortunes of the UK's wealthiest property developers
As a taster, the paper has revealed the ten richest house builders in this year's rundown, with John Bloor of Bloor Homes (and Triumph) topping the table after another mega successful year that saw his eponymous firm churn out another 3,000 homes at an average selling price of £300k.
The former plasterer is apparently now worth £1.858bn, nearly double that of second placed Steve Morgan, the Redrow chairman (who gave over £200m to his foundation last year in what's thought to be the biggest single charity donation ever made in the UK).
Retirement housing specialists Clinton, Spencer and John McCarthy make up the top three, and all but one on the list posted significant gains during the 12 month period.
